Highlands Latin School Seniors Excel on SAT
Highlands Latin School Seniors Excel on SAT
Highlands Latin School seniors were rewarded for their years of diligent work with an outstanding average SAT score of 1976 compared to a national average of 1511 for college bound seniors. "I am proud of what these young men and women have accomplished." said principal Shawn Wheatley. "It is really a testament to the effort put forth by the students, their parents, and their teachers."
For each of the last three years, Highlands Latin students have had the highest average SAT or ACT scores in the city and this year is expected to continue that streak. While 2008 is an exceptional year, Highlands Latin's average SAT score over the last three years is 1903 making it the only school in the city with a three year (or single year) average over 1900.
Although the Business First List of Private Schools has not released numbers yet for 2008, below are the results compared to 2007 that put the achievement of our rising senior class in perspective.
